Volunteers in this ministry are responsible for the effective proclamation of the Liturgy of the Word: the readings and prayers of the faithful that precede the Gospel. It is a ministry that, like several others, evolved after Vatican II as a lay person’s calling to special service to the faith community. Currently at Our Lady of Victory and Our Lady of Hope, 40-50 individuals offer their time and talent at weekend and weekday Masses. Volunteers are most welcome, and training will be provided.
